The Blue Book, which began in the early 20th century as a catalogue of Tiffany’s most exquisite offerings, has evolved into an annual celebration of the house’s finest craftsmanship. The 2025 edition plunges into the ocean’s mysteries, interpreting its beauty through an artistic lens shaped by marine creatures, aquatic flora, and rhythmic underwater movement.

Under the creative direction of Nathalie Verdeille, Tiffany’s Chief Artistic Officer of Jewelry and High Jewelry, Sea of Wonder is structured into six chapters — Ocean Flora, Seahorse, Sea Turtle, Starfish, Urchin, and Wave. Each segment captures a unique facet of life beneath the surface, from intricate natural textures to abstract expressions of fluidity and light.

The collection features an exceptional range of gemstones that evoke the vibrant hues and iridescence of the sea, including phosphorescent cuprian elbaite tourmalines, rare Zambian emeralds, and vivid blue zircons. These stones are set in elaborate compositions that mirror the organic elegance of oceanic forms.

One of the collection’s highlights is a sea turtle brooch, crafted over 900 hours in platinum and 18k gold. It features a cushion-cut diamond exceeding 4 carats, framed by more than 26 carats of brilliant-cut diamond accents. Another standout is the Seahorse necklace, a feat of craftsmanship requiring 1,185 hours to complete, combining 18k yellow gold and platinum with 980 round brilliant diamonds, cabochon sapphires, and moonstones.

The Starfish chapter revisits Schlumberger’s 1956 starfish design, giving it a celestial twist with rare rubies set into sculptural gold. Each arm of the starfish sparkles with rose-cut and brilliant diamonds, delivering a dynamic interplay of light and movement that reimagines the creature with modern sophistication.

The Sea of Wonder collection was revealed at a private event held earlier this year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The unveiling transformed the museum into an immersive marine world, reflecting both the collection’s imaginative theme and Tiffany’s legacy of pushing creative boundaries in high jewellery.
