The Qatar Diamond Exchange (QDE) has expanded its network of international bourse partnerships into Europe through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Borsa Diamanti d’Italia, signed during the CIBJO Centenary Congress in Vicenza, Italy.

The agreement follows QDE’s earlier partnerships with the Diamond Exchange of Singapore, Shanghai Diamond Exchange and Tokyo Diamond Exchange, giving the Qatar bourse links with established trading centres across Asia and Europe.

Under the agreement, the two bourses will facilitate connections between their respective memberships, including commercial introductions and opportunities for members to participate in industry events, tenders, auctions and diamond viewings. Reciprocal visits involving members and management are also planned.

The partnership also provides for cooperation on industry standards and initiatives aimed at supporting consumer confidence in natural diamonds. Both bourses have committed to recognised frameworks, including the World Diamond Council’s System of Warranties and standards associated with the Responsible Jewellery Council.

Ghanim Nasser Al-Saadi, Director of QDE, said the partnership would strengthen the exchange’s international network and provide members with opportunities to develop commercial relationships and exchange expertise with counterparts in Italy.

Luigi Cosma, President of Borsa Diamanti d’Italia and Vice President of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, said the agreement would connect the Italian bourse’s membership with Doha while enabling QDE members to engage with the Milan market.
