Expansion of sanctions: EU adds Alrosa, world's largest diamond producer, and CEO to restricted list

On January 3, the European Union announced the inclusion of Alrosa (ALRS.MM), the largest global diamond producer, and its CEO Pavel Alekseevich Marinychev in its sanctions list. EU's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, shared on the social media platform X, stating, "Aligned with the diamond prohibition introduced in the 12th package of sanctions, the EU now adds Alrosa, the world's leading diamond-mining company, and its CEO."
