This innovative tool rapidly distinguishes natural diamonds from lab-grown diamonds (LGDs) and simulants, reinforcing consumer confidence in their purchases.

DiamondProof detects unique characteristics found only in earth-formed natural diamonds, ensuring accurate identification. With zero false positives, the device guarantees that no LGD is mistakenly classified as a natural diamond.

The technology has already been adopted by major U.S. jewellery retailers and independent stores. Developed from De Beers’ SynthDetect instrument, it swiftly screens both loose diamonds and those set in jewellery, delivering results within seconds.

“Consumers deserve transparency when buying diamonds,” said Sandrine Conseiller, CEO of De Beers Brands. “DiamondProof gives them peace of mind, ensuring they know exactly what they are purchasing.”

With demand growing, De Beers plans to expand the device’s availability to global markets.
