De Beers Group has unveiled a customized natural diamond jewellery creation for Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav, centred around a cricket-inspired “powerplay pendant” paired with a natural diamond chain.
According to the company, the collaboration reflects changing consumer attitudes towards men’s jewellery in India, with natural diamonds increasingly being positioned as a form of personal expression rather than occasion-based wear.
The pendant has been crafted in 18kt white gold and incorporates cricket-inspired design elements, including a sculptural bat motif and an abstract cricket ball represented through a solitaire diamond setting. The piece combines pavé-set and brushed gold surfaces, alongside princess, baguette and custom triangular-cut natural diamonds.
The creation features a total of 1,848 natural diamonds across the pendant and chain. De Beers Group stated that the powerplay pendant contains approximately 9 carats of natural diamonds, while the complete jewellery set totals 21 carats.
The accompanying constellation chain includes more than 400 handcrafted links, each set with natural diamonds. The company said the design was intended to represent precision, movement and modern masculinity.
Commenting on the customized piece, Suryakumar Yadav said, “The powerplay pendant is special to me. It reflects my journey and identity on the field in a deeply personal way. What the De Beers team has created is more than just jewellery. It is a piece of my story, crafted with a precision and intention that I deeply connect with.”
De Beers Group said the project aligns with the growing relevance of men’s diamond jewellery within the Indian market, particularly pieces linked to identity, storytelling and contemporary styling.
