Chopard has introduced a new high jewellery collection titled ‘Caroline’s Garden’, marking the debut of a novel scalloped setting technique within its haute joaillerie portfolio.

The collection, currently highlighted through the maison’s official channels, centres on a series of statement rings inspired by a lush, light-filled garden narrative, reflecting Chopard’s continued emphasis on nature-led design under co-president and artistic director Caroline Scheufele.

A key technical feature of the collection is the introduction of a scalloped setting described as closed on the exterior and open within, designed to enhance the internal light performance of gemstones. According to the brand, this construction allows light to pass through the centre stone more effectively, creating a luminous effect “from within” and differentiating it from traditional closed-back high jewellery settings.

The rings feature a broad spectrum of coloured gemstones, including sapphires, rubellites, spinels and coloured diamonds. Each piece is conceived to resemble a fully bloomed flower, with the gemstone acting as the focal point and the setting forming petal-like structures that contribute to both volume and light play.

The launch reinforces Chopard’s ongoing design direction, which has increasingly prioritized colour-intensive compositions and sculptural forms over single-stone dominance. The floral theme also aligns with the maison’s established high jewellery codes, frequently expressed through its Red Carpet and thematic haute joaillerie collections.

From a trade perspective, ‘Caroline’s Garden’ signals continued momentum in innovative setting techniques and multi-gemstone storytelling, particularly within the high jewellery ring category. The introduction of a new proprietary setting also highlights the growing importance of technical differentiation as a value driver in the luxury segment.

While the collection appears to be an early-stage reveal rather than a full-scale commercial launch, it is expected to be further expanded or formally presented during upcoming global high jewellery showcases.
