The London Diamond Bourse (LDB) has elected Charlotte Rose as its new President, making her the first woman to lead the organization since its establishment in 1940. The appointment was confirmed during the bourse's Annual General Meeting held on June 25, 2026.

Rose succeeds David Troostwyk, who will now serve as Vice President. Her election follows her appointment as the London Diamond Bourse's first female Vice President in 2024, a role in which she led initiatives focused on education, industry outreach and strengthening engagement with the next generation of diamond professionals.

A third-generation diamantaire, Rose is the founder and director of Solomons & Rose, a UK-based natural diamond and fine jewellery business, and also heads the jewellery division of Furlong Auction House. Throughout her tenure on the LDB committee, she has advocated for greater transparency in the natural diamond trade, consumer education and the protection of diamond pipeline integrity.

In her first statement as President, Rose said she intends to continue strengthening the London Diamond Bourse's role as a centre for education, collaboration and professional development while encouraging greater participation from younger members entering the trade. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining confidence in natural diamonds through knowledge sharing and responsible industry practices.

Her appointment is also believed to mark the first time a woman has been elected President of any diamond bourse affiliated with the global bourse network, representing a milestone for leadership diversity within the international diamond industry.

The London Diamond Bourse, one of the world's leading diamond trading organizations, continues to play a central role in supporting the UK's diamond and jewellery sector through trading, education, networking and industry representation. Rose's presidency comes as the organization seeks to expand member engagement and reinforce the importance of education and ethical business practices across the diamond supply chain.
