A vintage Cartier bangle featuring twin zebra heads is set to headline the upcoming London Jewels sale at Christie’s, scheduled for June 5 in London. The piece carries a pre-sale estimate of GBP 180,000 to GBP 260,000 (approximately $243,000 to $351,000).
Dating back to the 1990s, the bangle is designed with circular-cut diamonds, buff-top onyx cabochons and emerald eyes, reflecting Cartier’s longstanding association with animal-inspired jewellery motifs. The auction house is positioning the piece as the leading lot in a sale that will feature more than 190 jewellery items from major international houses.
Other notable pieces in the auction include a Bulgari Serpenti diamond bangle estimated at up to GBP 240,000, a 66.40-carat fancy orange-brown diamond pendant expected to fetch as much as GBP 150,000, and a sapphire-and-diamond ring centred on a 20.54-carat Ceylon sapphire.
The sale also includes signed jewellery from brands such as Bulgari, Graff and Van Cleef & Arpels, underlining continued collector interest in heritage luxury jewellery and branded vintage pieces in the global auction market. Christie’s latest London auction follows a broader trend of strong demand for signed jewels with provenance, rarity and distinctive design aesthetics.
