Bonhams will present a 1924 diamond tiara by Boucheron at its upcoming Exceptional Jewels auction in London, with the historic piece expected to achieve between £200,000 and £300,000.

The tiara, designed as a diamond-set bandeau with scrolling foliate motifs, dates back to the Art Deco period and features a detachable pear-shaped old brilliant-cut diamond drop weighing approximately 3.60 carats. According to Bonhams, the jewel has remained within the same family since its original acquisition in the early twentieth century.

The piece is among the headline lots of the auction house’s London jewellery sale and reflects continuing international demand for signed vintage jewellery and rare maison creations entering the secondary market.

Auction houses have reported sustained interest in period high jewellery, particularly pieces carrying strong provenance, heritage craftsmanship and signatures from historic European maisons including Boucheron, Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Bonhams stated that the tiara exemplifies early twentieth-century French jewellery design, combining delicate diamond workmanship with convertible functionality characteristic of the period. Signed tiaras and bandeaux from the Art Deco era remain relatively scarce at auction, contributing to continued collector attention in the category.

The upcoming sale will also include coloured gemstones, antique jewellery and signed contemporary creations aimed at private collectors and international buyers.

The offering comes amid broader strength in the global auction market for heritage jewellery, with collectors increasingly viewing rare signed pieces as both cultural assets and investment acquisitions. Major jewellery auctions in London, Geneva, Hong Kong and New York have continued to record strong participation for exceptional vintage and provenance-led jewels.
