Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair: A Key Marketplace for Global Gemstone Sourcing

The 73rd Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair gathered over 1,000 companies across 2,600 booths, with rising footfall through the show highlighting Bangkok’s continued role as a global sourcing hub for gemstones.

The Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair, held from 22–26 February 2026 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, reaffirmed Bangkok’s role as one of Asia’s most important sourcing hubs for gemstones and jewellery.

The 73rd edition of the fair brought together more than 1,000 companies across over 2,600 booths, covering gemstones, diamonds, finished jewellery, machinery and related components.

Footfall Builds as Show Progresses

Exhibitors reported that the show began on a relatively slow note, with the first two days seeing lighter visitor traffic. However, footfall increased significantly toward the latter half of the fair, resulting in decent to good business discussions by the end of the show.

The timing of the exhibition coincided with the immediate aftermath of Chinese New Year and the beginning of Ramadan, both of which influenced early buyer attendance.

Some exhibitors felt that closer scheduling with other major trade fairs in the region would help improve buyer movement, allowing international visitors to maximise their sourcing trips across Asia.

A Must-Visit Show for Gemstone Buyers

Bangkok continues to position itself as one of the world’s most important marketplaces for coloured gemstones, attracting jewellery manufacturers looking for variety, new suppliers and specialised cutting expertise.

Thailand’s long-established expertise in gemstone cutting — particularly in rubies and sapphires — remains a major draw for international buyers.

For manufacturers seeking calibrated assortments, layouts and special cuts, the show offers access to a wide spectrum of suppliers in a single venue.

We specialize in layouts, special cuts and precision setting. This show attracts many jewellery manufacturers and watch makers, making it a perfect place for sourcing.

Strong Interest in Select Gemstones

Despite cautious market sentiment, certain high-end gemstones continued to see steady demand.

High-end products are doing well. Emeralds and rubellites are moving well. Though we were not expecting a lot of response because of Ramadan and the expected Iran war situation.

Meanwhile, exhibitors showcasing unique craftsmanship continued to attract interest from buyers seeking differentiated pieces.

We create one-of-a-kind pieces that are never repeated. Our sapphires are set in an interlocking invisible setting style. The show’s central location in the city also makes it convenient for international buyers.

Rising Gold Prices Push Manufacturers Toward Silver

A recurring discussion among manufacturers was the impact of rising and fluctuating gold prices on jewellery production.

Several factories are now expanding their silver jewellery offerings or incorporating silver into product lines as a cost-efficient alternative.

Due to heavy fluctuations in gold prices, silver is increasingly used as a better alternative metal. When you operate a large factory with daily consumption, adapting to market conditions becomes necessary.

Bangkok’s Strategic Role in the Global Gem Trade

By bringing together gemstone suppliers, jewellery manufacturers and international buyers, the Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair continues to serve as a strategic sourcing destination for the global gemstone trade.

For many buyers and manufacturers, the exhibition remains a must-visit platform to explore new suppliers, discover specialized stones and build long-term sourcing relationships.
