Titan commissions plant for stainless steel watch cases

Titan Company Limited has commissioned its Rs.75 crore plant set up outside of Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu, to manufacture stainless steel watch cases. For manufacturing, the company will seek technical assistance from SEIKO EPSON Corp, Japan for achieving the high-end – world class stainless steel cases, reports say. The plant will be enabled to deliver around one million cases per annum and grow to two million, further on, reports say.

Titan Company is the retail arm of Tata Group with a portfolio in watches and jewellery. Titan’s current infrastructure includes a manufacturing plant in Hosur and three assembly units in north India. It currently manufactures 6 million watch cases per annum, reports add.
