Colombo Gold Center opens doors

The Colombo Gold Centre was inaugurated in the presence of the Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa, Secretary Defence and Urban Development Gotabaya Rajapaksa, reports say.

The Gold Centre project has been set up at a cost of Rs 237 million at the former St.John’s Fish market in Pettah in close proximity to the popular Sea Street jewellery market. The modern complex now houses 83 jewellery stalls, restaurant and public convenience space. Customers have been facilitated to get their purchases checked for quality from the Gem and Jewellery Authority stall. Gold center also facilitates space for bank branches for the convenience of the customers. The internal arrangements of the complex comprises with state-of-art facilities provided with a unique security system to make it a secure place and with a spacious car park, report adds.
