SGL opens 11th location in Dubai

The laboratory would provide certification and diamond reports

Solitaire Gemmological Laboratories (SGL) on the 21st of August launched the opening of its 11th location in Dubai. The laboratory would serve to the growing concerns in the industry, certifying Diamonds, offering Full and Mini Diamond Reports as well as Diamond Jewellery Certification. In order to facilitate certification, SGL will also have a take-in window at the gold souk in Dubai.

Mr. Gautam Sashital, CEO of the DMCC, delivered the opening speech, welcoming SGL to the ALMAS Tower and DMCC, the new diamond trading centre of the world. Mr Ashish Mehta, UK Trade and Investment also expressed his pleasure to see London headquartered SGL spread to 11 laboratories with a new international location.

We’re pleased to have launched our lab in a very potential and growing region. Almas Tower is a strategic location and a growing Diamond Centre and with our take-in window at the old gold souk we have struck the right balance.” said Shirin Bandukwalla, Director SGL.

SGL conducted a seminar “Spot the CVD challenge” at the launch which helped participants learn more about CVD’s. On display were also specialised machinery used to identify synthetics which will be used at SGL’s operations.
