Botswana Diamonds-Alrosa JV discovers new targets on PL117 in Orapa

The Botswana Diamonds plc and Alrosa joint venture has discovered some new targets on PL117 in Orapa, reports say. The first results of the exploration program on PL117/2011 have identified this area to be prospective for diamond-bearing kimberlites, reports add.

Two targets AN117/1 and AN117/2 discovered in the northern part of the concession block is identified to have ‘high potential of being new kimberlite discoveries; drilling is expected to begin at AN117/2, in September; AN117/1, will be further defined to take it to drilling, reports add.

The JV between the two companies is known as Sunland Minerals, where each of the two entities is a 50/50 partner, reports say.
