Alrosa and DDC sign MOU

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Alrosa and the Diamond Dealers Club of New York (DDC) in Las Vegas, reports say. The agreement aims to develop cooperation between the diamond industries of Russia and the United States.

According to the agreement, there will be exchange of knowledge, updates on the latest progress in polished diamond certification, new cutting and polishing technologies, and initiatives on identification of synthetics and treated diamonds, cooperation towards issues pertaining to the World Diamond Council, reports say.

Both entities will make conscious efforts in keeping sales of natural and synthetic diamond and diamond jewellery separate and battle the issue of undisclosed mixing of synthetics with natural diamonds, reports add.
