Michael Hill’s total sales up 11% in three quarter period

Michael Hill witnessed a rise in its same-store sales for its U.S. locations. The said sales were up 3 percent for the three quarters ending March 31, reports say. Although there was a 7 percent drop in the total sales of the U.S. stores to $7.2 million this year (in the local currency).

The overall same-store sales rose 5 percent in local currency terms (Australian dollars) and total sales increased 11 percent to $350.2 million, reports suggest.

The company noted that the Canadian region delivered the strongest performance with same-store sales up 9 percent same-store sales increase in local currency and the US followed with a 3 percent rise, reports say.

The company last year had invested in broadening its e-commerce business by launching four new websites to support its e-commerce business across its four markets, reports say.
