Signet’s sales up 7.7% in Q3 of fiscal 2014

At the close of the quarter ending November 2, 2013, Signet Jewelers Ltd, recorded a 7.7 percent increase in its sales over the same period last year, to value US$771.4 million, reports say. Although, net income in the said months dropped by 2.3 percent to US$33.6 million. Same-store-sales rose from 1.4 percent in comparable quarter last year to 3.2 percent and online sales were up 16.3 percent to US$22.8 million, reports suggest.

The retailer noted increase in sales of bridal and diamonds in the US and UK markets. Also, in the U.S. markets, the retailer’s total sales rose 9.8 percent to US$632.1 million and same-store sales were up 4.2 percent. There was a 11.7 percent increase in the online sales.
