Indian exports of gems and jewellery rose 2.7 % for period ending March 2007: GJEPC

Exports of colored gemstones rose 6 % to $246.5 million

According to GJEPC reports, the gems and jewellery exports rose 2.7 perecent to $17.1 billion.
Polished diamonds fell 7.8 percent to $10.9 billion and exports of colored gemstones rose 6 percent to $246.5 million.

Also, there has been an increase in exports of gold jewellery to $5.2 billion as per GJEPC data.
