Shades of Saffron - a collection dedicated to bridal jewellery presented by Charu Jewels and created by Nikhil Desai, was showcased at the India International Jewellery Week 2013. It displayed a host of round and uncut diamonds balanced in sync with coloured stones and pigments, adding allure to the bridal segment.

Charu Jewel’s brand ambassador, Jyotika Solanki opened the show with shimmering bridal ornaments.

Precious stones and metals, pearls ending the edge of a diamond necklace, square rubies embedded in sections of a diamond neck piece, strands of pearls holding a lacy ruby and diamond curved piece at the neck, were some pieces that shone. An eye-catching golden cuff with a bunch of raised flowers in the centre, flowing bib creations in diamond with ruby centres gleamed.

A lotus shaped choker and the three tiered one with a ruby centre, Raani Haar pendant held with emerald and pearl strands, raised florets encrusted with emeralds were also displayed.

Bangles made a fashion statement in the various ways they were worn, and cuffs were offered in wide and narrow widths. Bold rings and earrings matching the splendour of the necklaces were also seen.

Former Miss universe 1994 Sushmita Sen wore the show stopper piece - a choker with emerald centre and three strands of alternating pearls/emeralds, assorted bangles and rings.
