With the agenda to create stronger ties with each other’s diamond industry, the Antwerp World Diamond Center (AWDC) has chalked out a mission to Angola, reports say. This initiative will take effect from October 20 to 27. It is being organized in cooperation with the Belgian embassy and officials from both the Belgian and Angolan governments, including Princess Astrid of Belgium, will be among the notable attendees.

According to the agenda of the mission, high-level meetings are planned between the participating Antwerp diamond companies and key officials of Angola’s diamond industry, local and international diamond mining and manufacturing companies. The purpose is to develop networking between the Belgian companies from a wide array of industries with their Angolan counterparts, reports say.

This year, Angola celebrates 100 years in the area of diamond mining and during the Angolan Diamond Centenary Conference held in June, the government had been on the search for potential investors and AWDC showed interest to support with its experience and knowledge in turn benefiting both diamond industries.
