Gem Diamonds sells 164 carat diamond for $9 million

Gem Diamonds achieved $9 million for the sale of a 164 carat, D color, type IIa rough diamond from the Letšeng mine. It was recovered at the Letšeng main pipe on April 30, reports say.

This sale was conducted in a profit sharing agreement format with the buyer, which allows Letšeng Diamonds the benefit of a share of the sale of the resulting polished diamonds, reports say.
