The International Gemological Institute (IGI) completed its first Polished Diamond Grading Course, in Hyderabad, Panjagutta, between April 15 to 26 April 2013 and had in the previous month announced the inauguration of its laboratory services in Hyderabad on March 18.

The first Polished Diamond Grading scheduled for April 15 2013 for the Andhra Pradesh trade and gem enthusiasts, concluded successfully.

The Polished Diamond Grading Course is a short term practical grading program imparting knowledge in intricacies of diamond grading, topics like diamond 4C’s, treatments, synthetics and pricing. % IGI is looking forward to holding more such courses in Hyderabad and help give the industry a professional batch of gemologists.

Mr Tehmasp Printer, Managing Director, IGI, says ‘IGI emphasises on educating and imparting knowledge which brings in awareness across the board. This leads to greater transparency and induces buying confidence in consumers. For the last ten years IGI certification has helped diamond traders by authenticating the quality of diamonds and gemstones. We wish to serve the industry better by giving the industry a set of informed and trained professionals.
