Israel’s polished diamond exports drop 8% in Q1

At the close ot he three months ending March 31, 2013, Israel’s polished diamond exports dipped 8 percent (on y-o-y basis) to $1.601 billion, while polished diamond imports dropped ‎‎13 percent to $962 million, reports say. The net polished exports (exports less imports) stood flat at $639 million.

In regards to the rough diamond trade, the imports dropped 10 percent in the said quarter to $891 million and exports increased 3 percent to $826 ‎million. The net rough imports (imports less exports) declined 65 percent to $65 ‎million, reports add.

The net diamond account in the three months increased 27 percent to $574 million, reports say.
