Presenting a seminar at the 30th Hong Kong Gem and Jewellery Fair, Mr. Wilson Yuen, president of International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) shared insights on “updates of the markets trends of coloured gemstones”

In his speech, Yuen offered details on market segmentation, sales platforms and country-bycountry analysis of the AEC region, market trend on gem types, tones and marketing strategies. The topic was layered from the production, sourcing and market prospective. “Mid-range consumers start to purchase medium priced products through platforms like homeshopping via the television marketing. It is a great opportunity for the large – scale market expansion”, said Yuen. The HKTDC Seminar was on March 5.

Yuen extended the invitation of the ICA 2013 biennale Congress, which will be held in Changsha, China from May 12 to May 16, with the theme of “sourcing countries and China market”. Yuen also attended the opening ceremony of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewelllery Show where Professor the Honorary K C Chan, secretary of Financial Services and the Treasury of HKSAR Government was invited to cut the ribbon.
