The Indian Diamond & Colorstone Association (IDCA) grand gala event held during the AGTA Tucson Gem Show on Thursday, honoured Mr. Ashok K. Sancheti, President of Pioneer Gems with the “Outstanding Achievement Award”. The event was held on February 7, 2013 at the Marriott University Park Hotel.

The Awards function was opened by Mr. Mehul Shah, President of IDCA, while Mr. Haridas Kotahwala Vice President / Chairperson, Tucson Show Committee introduced the honoree.

Mr. Ashok K. Sancheti’s association with the gem and jewellery industry began in the wholesale diamond business, and later into emeralds when in October 1982 he founded Pioneer Gems. He began delving in designing jewellery for auction houses like Christie's and Sotheby's in 2002 and has earned repute in the same. His career is also highlighted by his contributions over the past 20 years, serving as Treasurer and Vice President of the IDCA, Vice President of the AGTA, Director for the Rajasthan Association of North America, and as a Trustee of Siddhachalam Jain Tirth and the Jain Center of America. He is currently serving as an advisor the Akshaya Patra Foundation. His commitments also extend to charity.

The awards presentation was followed by dinner and dance.
