HRD Awards 2013 contest theme announced

HRD Antwerp announced the theme for its 15th edition of its HRD Awards jewellery contest as Trompe l’oeil,'' explained as ‘nothing is what it seems’. According to HRD Antwerp, this theme is expressed in contemporary jewellery through a play of materials, shapes, designs and ideas.

The contest calls on designers to create diamond jewellery that is unique, surpasses normal beliefs, and delivers an element of surprise.

The closing dates for the entry is December 15, 2012. The shortlisted designers will be required to submit finished jewellery pieces by May 15, and the winners and finalists will be announced by July 18. The winning collection will tour and showcase across the globe at trade fairs, trade events in 2013 and 2014. The winner will be awarded $10,000 and the four finalists will receive $2,500 each. The grand finale and award ceremony is slated for 2013-end.

The HRD Awards are a platform for designers in the gem and jewellery industry to showcase their creations globally.
