Martian Pink is top lot at Christie’s Hong Kong sale

The Martian Pink - a 12.04-carat, fancy intense pink diamond signed by Harry Winston was the top lot to sell at Christie’s Hong Kong sale of Magnificent Jewels. The stone was bought for $17,395,728 or $1,444,823 per carat.

The auction sale was highlighted with top prices across the board as per the Christie’s. A perfect Burmese ruby of 6.04 carats achieved a world record price of $551,000 per carat. This was the third top lot of the sale and achieved a total of $3,330,768.

Overall the sale generated revenues worth a total of $80,258,468. The second top lot in the sale was a pair of 10.88-carat, D, flawless brilliant-cut diamonds which sold for $4,845,456. The other top lots of the sale include - a diamond ring by JAR (sold for $2,970,128); a 3.11-carat, VVS1 intense pink rectangular-cut diamond (sold for $2,032,464); a 14.37-carat, D, IF pear (bought for $1,960,336); an 11.85-carat, D, potentially IF diamond ring by Harry Winston (bought for $1,960,336).
