Although not drastically behind, yet Harry Winston Diamond Corp’s expectations of diamond production from the Diavik mine fell short for the year 2011. Against the forecast of 6.9 million carats, the mine produced 6.7 million carats of diamonds at the close of the year.

For the current year, 2012, the company is pinning diamond production expectations from Diavik mine at 8.3 million carats.

The mine is held jointly by Harry Winston (holding 40 percent) and Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. (60 per cent ownership) a fully owned subsidiary of Rio Tinto Plc.
