Birks produces gem encrusted brooch for Her majesty the Queen

As a sign of respect to Her Majesty the Queen, Captain General of the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery, for her 60th anniversary of service as Captain General of the Canadian Artillery, leading Canadian jeweller Birks has produced a jewel encrusted brooch.

The jewel incorporates a Canadian maple leaf symbols and that of the Regiment. A Canadian maple leaf crafted in 18 karat and 21 karat yellow and white gold, is further accentuated with platinum and diamonds. The Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery cap badge made from emeralds, rubies and sapphires is superimposed on the leaf.

The gift was presented to Her majesty the Queen by Lieutenant-General (Retired) Mike Jeffery, Colonel Commandant of the Royal Canadian Artillery and Lieutenant-General Stuart Beare, Senior Serving Gunner, at a meeting with the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
