At the recently concluded KP Plenary Meeting in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, the KP has agreed upon appointing the United States to the position of KP Vice Chair. The United States will take on the position of KP Chair on January 1, 2012 for one year. During this period the position of KP Vice Chair will be held by South Africa which will later take on the position of KP Chair beginning 2013.
