Saffronart’s Autumn Online Auction draws good response

The Autumn Online Auction of Fine Jewels & Watches held by Saffronart, the world’s largest online fine-art auction house and the only auction house dealing in fine jewelry in India, hosted bidders from across the world, and met with good demand for natural pearls, impressive coloured diamonds and gemstones, and limited edition men’s watches.

Minal Vazirani, Co-founder and President of Saffronart said, ‘‘This auction catalogue was defined by extremely significant and well priced coloured gemstones, diamonds and natural pearls, in addition to limited edition watches and a range of men’s accessories. There was a lot of enthusiasm from bidders about the outstanding quality of the gemstones, the contemporary designs, and the men’s watches in particular.”

The top lots sold at the two-day auction included: a magnificent pair of diamond and black onyx ear pendant sold for USD 140,450; a five-strand natural pearl necklace sold for USD 115,000; a fancy yellow diamond ring sold for USD 87,849; a pair of emerald and diamond ear pendants sold for USD 52,981; and a natural pearl and diamond ring sold for USD 48,936.

The Magnificent Jewels auction began in October 2008 and has completed six successful jewelry auctions.
