Israel’s polished diamond exports up 82% in May

Exports of rough diamonds up 72%

In May 2011, polished diamond exports from Israel rose 82 percent $1.1 billion. Exports of rough diamonds increased 72 percent to $426.7 million. The country’s total diamond imports (including rough and polished diamonds combined) was up 78 percent to $1.16 billion.

The net diamond account for the month (total exports of polished and rough less total imports) rose 82 percent to $376.1 million.
