IGI opens facility in Ahemdabad

The International Gemological Institute (IGI)has opened a laboratory and training centre in Ahmedabad, giving Gujarat’s gem and jewellery industry its second such lab, the first being in Surat.

This IGI facility in Ahmedabad will offer training through courses in rough and polished diamond grading. The first course is expected to commence from June 20, 2011, reports say.

The laboratory arm of this centre will offer services to the diamond markets in Saurashtra and Kutch, reports suggest.
