Having being appointed as president of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), Rohit Mehta has become the second diamantaire to head the SGCCI. His appointment was announced at the organization’s 70 th annual general meeting and installation ceremony on June 12, 2011. The first diamantaire to head the SGCCI was Praveen Nanavaty, owner of SHE Jewels.

Mr. Mehta has previously held the position of president of Surat Diamond Association and is an owner of a jewellery firm. He is focused on taking on his role to bring international exposure to the SGCCI, develop business opportunities, beyond the diamond sector also.
