Harry Winston seeks to acquire development projects

Harry Winston Diamond Corporation, is focusing on expanding its diamond mining business ( it also is a leading name in jewellery retail), and is seeking to own complete or a stake in new projects. So far it owns 40 percent stake in Rio Tinto’s Diavik mine and is mainly focusing on prospects in Canada, while also considering options in Botswana and other stable regions in Africa as long as ‘they did not present a threat to the image of the brand’, the company mentions, in media reports.

The company is focusing on development projects, but ‘from a recognised resource or one whose value can be ascertained’, reports state.
