The earrings are crafted in collaboration with British jeweller

Emerald jewellery is catching on as a trend for 2011, as demonstrated even by celebrities sporting jaw dropping emerald jewellery at Cannes this year. Inspired by this ‘green’ jewellery trend, Gemfields joined hands with British jeweller, Anna De Costa, to launch a exquisite Gandhi Inspired Emerald Chandelier Earrings created with Zambian Emeralds.

The earrings are hand mounted in 18k yellow gold, styled in a manner that is reminiscent of the decadence of the 1920’s Art Nouveau period. The Unique Zambian Emeralds are set and suspended as 20 carat drops, with natural cognac diamonds used in areas of pave and as larger stones to add sparkle and a sense of light, but also to contrast with the emeralds, enabling them to “glow” naturally on their own in an ethereal way.

The ‘Gandhi’s spirit’ comes forth in the creation, with the usage of Emeralds and the transparent “mine to market” approach of Gemfields. Added to this, is the persona that reflects style, and modern royalty.
