Alrosa’s Q1’11 diamond production up 16% (preliminary results)

Rough diamond production at Alrosa increased 16 percent to 10 million carats, according to preliminary results issued by the company, for the first quarter of 2011. In this period, revenue are estimated at $810 million ($976.5 million in Q1 of 2010). Also, operating profit stood at $274.7 million ($281 million in Q1 of 2010) and net income increased 9 percent y-o-y to $195.3 million.

The preliminary results are based upon the Russian Accounting Standards.
