Sahar-Atid to be honoured as Outstanding Exporter for 2009

Israel’s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor has selected and named Israeli diamond company Sahar-Atid as an Outstanding Exporter for 2009 and will present the award to the company on December 20, 2010. The company is amongst the group of 10 companies who are recognised as Outstanding Exporter for 2009 in various aspects. The award which will be presented by Israel’s President Shimon Peres and Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer, is given each year to Israel’s best exporting companies in a variety of fields.

Yair Sahar, who is Senior Vice President of the Israel Diamond Exchange, as well as a member of the presidency of the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association and a director of the Israel Diamond Institute, said , “The Outstanding Exporter Award is an important honor since it underscores the contribution of the Israeli Diamond Industry to Israel’s economy. I am confident that the Israeli industry will continue to grow, despite the high prices of rough and the weakness of some markets today. The Israeli Diamond Industry has met many challenges over the years, and I strongly believe that the passion of people for diamonds is a never ending love story,” he further stated.

Sahar-Atid was established in 2000 by partners Yair Sahar and Mordechai Abo, veteran, second-generation diamantaires. The company has been a DTC-sightholder since 2008 and a core client of Harry Winston since 2003.
