Royal Asscher participates at ‘Lingerie New York 2010’

Presents ‘Stars of Africa Collection’ for the cause

Royal Asscher, partnered with the Seven Bar Foundation for the MTV produced ‘Lingerie New York 2010’, expressing its support and belief for empowerment of women. The event was slated for October 21st at Cipriani’s 42nd Street. The Seven Bar Foundation is an organization which lends micro-finance to underprivileged women, enabling them to spearhead their own successful businesses and rise from poverty.

Participating in support of this cause, Royal Asscher’s ‘Stars of Africa Collection’, designed by renowned jewellery designer Reena Ahluwalia was showcased on the ramp. Also, jewellery items from Royal Asscher’s exquisite collections were showcased in Cipriani’s ‘Champagne Lounge’. Fifty percent of the profits achieved on the sale of each piece sold at the event and over the next six months, will be donated to the Seven Bar Foundation through an online collaboration on Royal Asscher’s website.http://royalasscher.com/7barfoundation/. For each ‘Stars of Africa by Royal Asscher’ sold at least three women will get microfinance loans.

The ‘Stars of Africa by Royal Asscher’ collection presented rings, pendants, earrings and necklaces, set with diamonds encased in fluid filled sapphire dome, appearing to fall freely like snow flakes in a snow globe. Also lined up for the event was the ‘Royal Asscher Glove Collection’ by new fashion designer Dara Young and ‘Royal Asscher Diamond Head Dress Collection’ by famous stylist Nikki Pennie; all made of the finest quality leather, channeling anaconda, crock and stretch leather and set with 18k white gold and diamonds. Three headdress pieces designed by Nikki Pennie in platinum, silver and gold-plated bronze, and set with diamonds, were also to be presented.
