Diamdel plans to expand its presence in Israel, following a rise in the number of Israel based diamond companies registering with its online auctions. Diamdel is a unit of De Beers catering to sales in the secondary market.

The company plans to be a forerunner in supplying rough diamonds to Israel, and is considering relocating its local office by the end of the year. The company had scaled back its Israel operation in 2007, during the economic recession, following a restructuring. The Diamdel online auction was launched in January 2008. It has been recently enhanced to now allow Diamond Trading Company (DTC) sightholders to participate, beginning October.
