The Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) hosted the 52nd India Gem & Jewellery Awards (IGJA) on September 13 at the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) in Mumbai, recognising companies and individuals for performance across exports, manufacturing, innovation, employment and international business.
Amit Shah, Union Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Cooperation, attended the ceremony as chief guest. Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra; Eknath Shinde; Harsh Sanghavi, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat; and Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, GJEPC, have also attended the event.
The latest edition has placed export performance and international market presence alongside broader measures of industry contribution, reflecting the range of businesses operating across India’s gems and jewellery value chain.
Kiran Gems emerged as one of the major award recipients, winning the Cut & Polished Diamonds – Large category and receiving additional recognition for Highest Turnover and Best Innovative Marketing and Branding Campaign Overseas.
Dhanera Diamonds won in the medium cut and polished diamond category, while Kumbh Gems was recognized in the small category.
The precious metal jewellery categories recognized Hasmukh Parekh Jewellers for large plain jewellery, Ashok Jewels for medium plain jewellery and H.K. Designs (India) LLP for large studded jewellery.
Lab-grown, synthetic and coloured stones feature
The awards also reflected the diversity of India's gemstone and jewellery manufacturing base.
Greenlab Diamonds received the award for Highest Export in Lab-Grown Diamonds, while RMC Gems India was recognized for Cut & Polished Synthetic Stones.
Vaibhav Global received recognition for Cut & Polished Coloured Gemstones and has also been named the Most Socially Responsible Company (CSR)
Renaissance Global won in the Silver Jewellery category, while Amrapali Worldwide was recognized for Costume/Fashion Jewellery. Cadas Gold and Diamonds received recognition in the SME Precious Metal Jewellery – Plain & Studded category.
Recognition extends beyond exports
Several awards have focused on wider business and industry parameters. Emerald Jewel Industry India received the Highest Taxpayer Company award, while Kira Diam Tech was recognized for Highest Employment on Company Rolls.
Debra Ann Nishimura was named Woman Entrepreneur of the Year while IndusInd Bank received the award for Best Bank Financing the Industry.
The international arm of the Indian trade has also featured prominently. Kiran Gems USA Inc. has been recognised for the highest gems and jewellery sales among importers in the USA and Canada. Kiran Exports (Hong Kong) Limited, Kiran Exports NV and Kiran Exports DMCC also received recognition for their respective overseas markets.
The awards highlighted the changing breadth of India’s gems and jewellery sector, where export scale is increasingly being assessed alongside employment, innovation, responsible business practices and international market development.
