Belgium’s polished diamond exports value up 16.8% in July

For the month of July 2010, polished diamond exports from Belgium increased 4.16 percent in volume terms to 811,035 carats (y-o-y) and in value by 16.8 percent to $1.12 billion. Volume wise, polished diamond imports rose 3.5 percent to 584,898 carats (y-o-y) and in value by 21.7 percent $798.1 million.

Rough diamond exports dipped in volume by 2.1 percent to 11.2 million carats but increased 17.5 percent in value to $1.0 billion. There was a 12.2 percent drop in volume of rough diamond imports to 8.18 million carats, but rose 10 percent in value to $690.5 million.
