FICCI Gems to strengthen Gems and Jewellery sector

Conference focused on jewellery manufacturing and technology

THE Western Regional Council of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce (FCCI) which is the rallying point for free enterprises in India organized FICCI Gems on 23 September2006, at Hyatt Regency, Mumbai in order to facilitate opportunities and help to overcome the challenges faced by the Gems and Jewellery sector.

The seminar was aimed to create a platform to identify areas of concern and share success models so as to interface with the industry and the catalyst for imparting knowledge on manufacturing and new technologies. This would enable the sector to maintain and match global standards in terms of quality and competitiveness. The
conference focused on jewellery manufacturing and technology.

The inagural session which kicked of at 10:00 am witnessed welcome speech by Mr. Sushil Jiwarajka - Chairman, FICCI-WRC, Ms. Nirupa Bhatt, Marketing Manager, Rio Tinto Diamonds, Overview of Gem & Jewellery Industry: Mr. Yogesh Dixit, Head, SME Ratings, CRISIL Ltd and Mr. Bakul Mehta , Chairman, Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council
