CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation has released the latest version of its Precious Metals Book, which is its second release after the latest version of its Pearl Book, since the 2010 Congress in Munich, Germany.

The new version of the Precious Metals Book has a new appendix with information on precious metal finenesses, and the appendix can now be lawfully sold in CIBJO Member countries worldwide. It is considered an invaluable reference for jewellery manufacturers in all countries throughout the world.

The CIBJO Blue Books prove as a definitive set of standards for the grading, methodology and nomenclature standards for diamonds, coloured gemstones, pearls, precious metals, and recently, also for gemmological terminology and nomenclature. The CIBJO Blue Books were originally compiled, and now continuously updated, by various committees formed by the representatives of trade organisations and laboratories in the diamond, coloured gemstone, cultured pearl, precious metals and jewellery industries.

The Precious Metals book was launched in 2007 and the CIBJO Gemmological Book was released in 2010.
