Botswana’s diamond exports rise 101% in Q1’10

Diamond exports from Botswana increased 101 percent to $477 million in the first quarter of 2010, when compared to the same period last year, reports say. Month-wise, the diamond exports amounted to around $253 million, in January 2010, but lower than $172 million in February and $53 million in March this year, reports add. Gold exports amounted to $13.3 million, rising 87 percent in the said quarter.
