Kohl’s plans 30 new stores for 2010

Kohl's has chalked an expansion plan for the current year, targeting to open around 30 stores in the U.S. by the end of 2010. Nine of the stores it plans to open by spring, across six states and generate 1,500 jobs through the nine stores. The six states identified include: Colorado, Maryland, Mississippi, New York, Oregon and Pennsylvania.

It is also planning to renovate and remodel 85 of its current stores, to provide and updated and new shopping experience. This will be 66 percent more remodels than what the company undertook in 2009, reports say. The period of end March 2010, there would be 1,067 operative Kohl’s stores in 49 states, reports add.
