India’s C&P diamond exports dip by 24%

In August, India’s total export of cut and polished diamonds declined by 24 percent to US $1082 million, while in the same month last year it stood at US $1423 million. Export of gold jewellery in the said month increased by 40 percent to US $545 million, while in the same month last year it stood at US $388 million.

Exports of coloured gemstone dipped by 15 percent to US $26 million, while in the same month of 2008 it stood at US $30 million.
