The World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) has planned to participate at the forthcoming Iberjoya trade show in Madrid, Spain, by hosting its first ever WFDB Interbourse Pavilion, which will be a a diamond trading floor exclusively for WFDB bourses members to exhibit. The pavilion is located prominently within the show premises, with a tower, a one-metre high perimeter wall and a single entrance, staffed by a hostess.

The pavilion will be equipped with tables and showcases within a designed display area, having extra security guards and closed-circuit cameras for the portion that has a wide visibility. The Trade Fair Institution of Madrid (IFEMA) is supporting the promotional activities of the WFDB endeavour, through an industry-wide marketing campaign, inviting the industry players to exhibit at the pavilion. Participants include Diamond Centers International located in Spain and Belgium, Rubin & Zonen of Antwerp, Belgium, and Eliezer Broide Diamonds, Leo Schachter Diamonds and Smart Diamond Enterprises Ltd (SDE) of Ramat Gan, Israel.

The Pavilion will enable the WFDB members to reach out to new markets for polished diamonds. According to reports the WFDB does not intend to compete with national diamond pavilions at the major trade shows, through its WFDB Interbourse Pavilion. The Iberjoya trade show is slated between September 9-13, 2009.
