Diamond and jewellery wholesaler – Stuller has launched a new application on the iPhone, by which consumers can select diamond engagement rings, do a virtual trial, share the image and source the stores to purchase the rings. So far the application has received a rave response.

The application has been developed with Gemvision. Its methodology directs a user to select the diamond of choice, through criteria of carat size, shape, mount it by precious metal colour and virtually tries it on by taking a picture of the hand with the iPhone camera . The images can be shared through e-mail or on Facebook or Twitter. Following this, the user is shown the locations of the nearest jewellery retailer who is also part of Stuller’s Red Box Diamond retailer programme. The retailers are mapped using the iPhone GPS function to source Google maps and plant virtual pins on the jewellers’ outlets, in grades of nearness to the user. A Live Diamond Try-On is downloadable from Apple’s App Store website.
