Finlay Enterprises has decided June 2009 to be the deadline by when it will close its offices in North Carolina. The company has informed a staff of 90 which was active in these offices of the decision. Its stores in the region include Finlay's Caryle and Co. operations, under which were operating freestanding stores branded as Carlyle and Co., J.E. Caldwell and Co. and Park Promenade Jewellers.

Finlay has closed 40 freestanding stores, and was confident about withdrawing from the licensed department-store business since the beginning of the year. It has also been undertaking sales across its Carlyle stores.
